While I am on vacation in Santa Barbara (yeah!) with my family I wanted to post these fun photos that Dustin and I took with Harris a few weeks ago. This photo shoot was totally impromptu and lots of fun – how could it not be?! It all started with one photo of Harris in his new MOSCOT Tummel glasses. Aren’t they perfect?
Glasses by MOSCOT, wool blazer by Hitchcock Madrona, and necklaces by Shannon Koszyk. We have Shannon Koszyk’s spring collection in store now. The new collection infuses her coins, medals and antique heraldry with white and brass beads. They are light and easy to wear.
Harris is also featuring the Seventy Eight Percent Ipad Sleeve and silk pocket square by Hitchcock Madrona. Both items are perfect gifts for men.
Barbour Falcon Coat in Black
IOSSELLIANI Rhinestone collar. How amazing is this piece?! Possibly my favorite item in the store right now. I can’t wait to see who takes this baby home.
Solid cashmere scarf by Hitchcock Madrona.
When we started this photo shoot we asked “what will work for Harris in the store?”. When we ended the shoot we realized “what DOESN”T work for Harris!?”. Everything looked great!
I will be back in the store on Wednesday, February 27th. Until then, Morrow and Dustin will be open and ready to help!
I am trying to inspire the sunshine with my clothing choices. But, it is still pretty gloomy (but, yeah, no snow!) in Seattle. Maybe that is why I look like I am angry in this photo?
Faceted onyx and gold plated sterling drop earrings by Hitchcock Madrona.
Two medallion necklaces by Shannon Koszyk (shortest and longest). Pyrite and labradorite layering necklaces by Hitchcock Madrona. Onyx and sterling silver ring by Crystal Hartman.
Sterling silver cuff by Crystal Hartman. Gold plated sterling “oyster” ring by Eric Saeter.
Kate is modeling Barbour’s Falcon Coat, which is part of their Heritage Fashion collection. The Heritage collection re-imagines and updates classic Barbour styles by putting a modern twist on iconic looks. It features details derived from Barbour’s International Jacket (which we blogged about previously!) and is super cute and practical.
Military-inspired fashion always comes back around in the fall and winter. It is classic and versatile, the look is timeless.
The Falcon Coat is made of a cashmere wool blend (so soft!) and features a beautiful leather belt. It has an extremely flattering fit as is expertly tailored.
We also have a few of our hand knit accessories left! Love the feel and dynamic color of the alpaca yarn we used.
Kate is also wearing a labradorite and sterling silver necklace by Shannon Koszyk in her pocket. She is also wearing a few Hitchcock Madrona bangle cuffs and a sterling silver Pamela Love ring.
We still have a few sizes in the Falcon coat available!
Here is the next “look” in our Kate photo shoot series. We just have too much fun dressing her up! When you have a perfect model, a store full of fabulous merchandise, a good camera, and two people (Dustin and I) who have read Vouge since the womb, this is the outcome.
The hat Kate is wearing is the “Indiana Hat” by Lisa Battaglia. This is the last one that we have in stock! Thank you to the five fabulous ladies (Kate is one of them!) that purchased Lisa’s designs. We cannot wait to carry her straw hats this spring/summer. Look for those on the blog around February.
Just a reminder we are open tomorrow (Christmas Eve) until about 2:00. Yes, we still have product! We just unpacked a new collection from Unearthen which I will photograph very soon.
New for fall are Lisa Battaglia hats! Based in Brooklyn, New York, Battaglia’s many and varied creations are all handmade in the U.S.! Her designs celebrate and incorporate elements of the past while remaining fashion forward. They all have a distinctive vintage/retro feel that merges seamlessly with modern elements, making them feel timeless and cutting-edge simultaneously. Her hats are of the highest quality and almost function as art works, as many are very sculptural. They have been featured in publications such as Marie Claire, W Jewelry, and Vogue. At Hitchcock, we’ve received several styles in gorgeous shades of grey and brown. These are fabulous accessories that dress-up any outfit and are amazingly versatile.
“Indiana” fedora in camel with brown leather detail.
The necklace that I am wearing is a sneak peak at our fall/holiday collection from Shannon Koszyk. I visited Shannon’s studio on Monday and picked up lots of her amazing pieces that will make their debut at our Fall Launch Party next Thursday, November 15th.
Floppy hat in light grey with silver braided leather detail.
The most dramatic of the bunch – wide brimmed fedora in black with black leather detail.
Look at this ring – I love it! Harriet, designer of Surplus, made these tic-tac-toe rings especially for Hitchcock Madrona. We are so lucky! They are playful, industrial, wearable (I know, you wouldn’t think!) and so conceptual.
I thought my Margiela booties echoed the brims of Lisa’s hats perfectly – this was a total accident; I didn’t plan on posting about the hats today. Love it when things work out!
We only have four of Lisa’s hats in store right now so come in and try them on. If you are thinking about investing in a hat these are original and made with love. I have worn my cheap hats too long! I think it is time to invest. But, which one??
These aren’t actually men’s shoes (my feet are not that big), but they are MADE like men’s shoes. I purchased these in Orvieto, Italy on holiday with my family in June. These are handmade in Italy with substantial materials and detailed finish work. It struck me – women’s shoes are NOT made with substance. I could feel the difference just by picking up one shoe. I was sold.
Earrings: Sterling silver, brass and waxed linen earrings by Winifred Grace.
Rings: (left to right) 1) Sterling Silver monogram signet ring by hitchcock Madrona. 2) Indian head penny (1905) and sterling silver ring by Shannon Koszyk. 3) Steel “Ace” ring (personal).
I am off this weekend for Casey’s family reunion tomorrow. Dustin will be in the store Saturday. Then D and I are off to Edmonton, Canada for an inspirational trip. Kate is back in the store on Sunday. Yeah!
I thought it was high-time I did an arm party post so here we go, these are my favorite arm party additions at the moment (starting at the top): Toki Colleciton, Crocheted Oxidized Sterling Silver Chain Bracelet, ($225), Iosselliani, Sterling Silver Bone Bracelet, ($202), Natalia Brilli, “Nolex” Leather Watch, ($350), Shannon Koszyk, Bronze Snake Vertebrae Braclet, ($378), and hitchcock Madrona, Sterling Silver & Leather Small Cuff, ($275).
I love having different textures (leather, chains, metals), different metals (sterling silver, bronze, oxidized sterling), and different shapes (thin beaded, large cuff) in my arm parties. And this party just happened to sort of have a theme: bones. Tough chic!
