Everything by Seventy Eight Percent is handmade by craftsmen and women committed to producing products of the highest quality using the best materials. The leather comes from a renowned tannery in Tuscany, the canvas is Egyptian cotton made in Japan. It can take up to fifty hours to complete a single Seventy Eight Percent bag.

The name “Seventy Eight Percent” was taken from a design manifesto written by the multi-talented Elad Klein, an Israeli designer, artist and musician. He believed that an item should be seventy eight percent perfect, which he determined was the ideal amount of perfection to ensure an object’s quality but that allows the product to still be unique, something that its owner can embrace. Seventy Eight Percent is a company passionate about making bags that are beautiful but also strong, and that regular use will only make better.

-The large “Schults” satchel $575
-The medium “Dimitri” satchel $475
-The small “Zazie” satchel $375
All Seventy Eight Percent bags are made with:
-Wax coated Japanese Canvas (produced from Egyptian cotton) that is resilient and water repellent
– Vegetable-tanned Italian Leather (an environmentally friendly tanning process!)
Each bag is HAND MADE, sometimes by up to 3 craftmen&women who can take up to 50 hours to assemble just one bag! The work truly shows in the bags, they are gorgeously crafted.
The “Schults” satchel has a padded compartment ideal for your 15″ MacBook Pro while the “Dimitri” is padded to perfection for your 13″ MacBook Pro. All bags have pocket organizers for your gadgets (iphone, passport, pens, camera, credit cards, etc.)
We also have the “Dirk” shoulder bag/belt bag $205:
This little guy is actually quite versatile, the strap can be detached, run through the bag loops & used as a belt! A totally chic fanny pack. The main pocket is big enough for an ipad, kindle, or notebook and there are multiple pockets for pens, keys, wallet, all your necessities.

Inspiration: Margot Tenenbaum

This year I’ve decided to be the oh so chic-ly tortured playwright Margot Tenenbaum of Wes Andersons The Royal Tenenbaums. 
She has fabulously quirky, sexy bohemian style: striped tennis dresses + a full length fur + loafers + pink cotton gloves + a plastic barrette & an Hermes Birkin to top it all off! It’s a little crazy but I absolutely adore it and I thought I would share my costume with you all….
